Ukraine is fighting for freedoms we have long taken for granted. We owe them a sustainable peace.

I am not opposed to British forces being deployed as guarantors of a peace deal to deter future Russian aggression. Without credible guarantees, a peace deal could simply give Russia time to prepare for its next attack.

These forces would not be there to fight a new war, but to ensure peace is sustainable. Any deployment must be grounded in international law, with clear rules, proper oversight, and the consent of the House of Commons.
