The Government should be far more concerned about the growing number of young people leaving Britain altogether.

Young people are our nation’s future. We must do more to help them build prosperous, fulfilling lives here in the UK, rather than forcing them to emigrate in search of opportunity.

One practical step would be to secure a youth mobility scheme with the EU. This would allow young people to live, work and travel across Europe without having to take the drastic step of emigrating and legally leaving the UK for a prolonged period.

This is about expanding opportunity, supporting aspiration, and giving young people the freedom they deserve—while keeping Britain open, outward-looking and competitive.
